I've already unlocked all the new zombie types through my current playthrough (alrdy encountered screamer, last special), and reached Legend level.Īnd if not, what I wanted to know was whether ALL enemies in the game actually SCALE relatively to your overall game story progression, be it through story or levelling up Not whether extra new zombies are introuced that are more even to your level. I know new zombies are introduced over the course of the main storyline. That's why it's such an enjoyable game 3 years later. ![]() The Specials hold their stats.fairly well thought out approach. There's about 4 tiers of Biters and Tanks, 3 of Goons and Toads. The enemy scaling is pretty decent the walkers/shamblers you meet near safe zones early in the game are not the same ones you meet later on in the story. I believe getting the Melee Weapon Throw helps me out seems there's not as much damage to the weapon as opposed to striking as a hand held, not entirely positive.a nice x-over from Dead Island. Careful what you wish for racing through the events.Screamers show up later in the storyline, ranged humans after The Pit.įinishing the side quests first allows for the Player to build up the Skill Tree for bonus attacks/abilities which is a must or you're grinding weapons into dust quickly and going for a safe vertical position constantly. Yes, advancing the Main Storyline brings the zombie stats higher via differing tier levels as well as differing types of enemy. Suggestion #1 would be to play on the easiest difficulty setting anyway then as that's the most likely setting to first encounter that desired outcome. I don't know at what point the damage is just "enough" to instakill the regular zombies. They don't get any blueprint upgrades later on either. While zombies scale many crafting items either don't at all or not noticeably scale, making them worse and worse the futher the rank increases. ![]() Realistic weapon damage models wasn't priority #1: I've also had the situation that zombies with multiple arrows through their head would still wander around but a single execute move with the bare hands or a simple kick to the head would still kill them instantly. Where you are also matters towards zombie scaling. The special zombie that uses the ground slam attack and rebar weapon seems to have 100% resistance vs lightning and pretty good resistances in general. No matter how much a zombie scales: the traps around can always instakill any regular zombie and the screaming runners (didn't test on acid spitters yet). Volatiles will die if exposed to day time for too long, even when caught inside a room in a building. Zombies will die pretty fast if they land on a spot that has no pathfinding to elsewhere for them and if they get too deep into water, even Volatiles. I don't know if there's an instakill possible if a zombie type is just too squishy vs a certain weapon or attack but if that's the case than it matters towards your question. ![]() The difficulty setting definately regulates how "tough" zombies are. They DO scale depending on the player's survivor level but the different types of zombies scale differently. There are different types of zombies among the "normal" ones with different hitpoints. ![]()
